Job Description

The Opportunity

This position will report to the Head of Change and Transformation. This is a key role within the Transformation department to drive transformation across our Singapore entity. The role will work with senior leaders across the organization to co-create a transformation vision and roadmap and execute upon such to deliver a step-change in our business operating model.

The Transformation Lead is an integral contributor to development, governance and execution of Manulife’s Digital Transformation journey in Singapore. The role works closely with senior stakeholders across the organization both locally and regionally to drive strategic initiatives aimed at advancing Manulife’s global strategy to drive customer centricity & excellence through our products, operations, distribution channels and services. In doing so, the role enables and supports the business to build realistic plans of attack that align investment to resource commitment, measures of success and benefits.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at 10-15 years’ relevant experience in Insurance (preferred) or financial services

  • Previous Business Transformation experience working for a multinational company, Financial Services firm – is advantageous but not a must

  • Knowledge of enterprise PMO, PMO governance

  • Project management: experience executing projects by developing deliverables timelines and effectively managing stakeholders. PMP, Management of Portfolios (MoP) and/or Agile qualifications are a bonus but not a must.

  • Stakeholder management: effectively collaborate & work alongside senior members of the organization within both local and regional capacities to drive the successful execution of transformation initiatives.

  • Communication: excellent speaking and writing skills are required to convey key messages in a succinct manner.

  • PowerPoint, Word and Excel: Advanced skills on PowerPoint with the ability to tell a story and sell a message. Can analyse large quantities of data, generate charts in Excel. Should have the ability to translate what the data is saying into applicable and useful information.

  • Flexibility and cultural awareness: Culturally sensitive to work with people of diverse backgrounds across Asia and North America.

On the job you will:

Transformation Design & Execution:

  • Shape the design and implementation roadmap of key initiatives to improve customer and distribution experience & efficiency, while driving simplicity and innovation within Manulife Singapore.

  • Articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes and align expectations with key stake-holders.

  • Providing subject matter expertise and thought leadership to drive transformation initiatives and digital acceleration for Manulife Singapore

  • Work alongside the respective key business stakeholders in developing, executing and monitoring respective business and operational strategies to drive customer excellence across the organization.

  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with key cross functional leaders/ program sponsors, and project team members through prompt and effective communication.

  • Working with PICs in researching key trends (markets, products, business, and technology) and conducting ongoing market & business analysis to support decision-making & identify new growth & transformational initiatives to further drive customer & operational success.

  • Working in close collaboration and partnership with regional and global colleagues to drive the global & regional strategy within Manulife Singapore’s operations.

  • Supports change management activities in driving user enablement and adoption for initiatives.

Program Management and Implementation:

  • Lead project teams in support of different project workstreams, and manage overall project activities, plans, and schedules associated with deliverables and milestones.

  • Manage the delivery of transformation program and provide regular updates to the performance of the program.

  • Develop project delivery and implementation strategy to deliver business cases together with key business stakeholders (covering benefits and financial monitoring)

  • Facilitate and drives delivery performance and satisfaction.

  • Deliver a structured approach and communication plans to effect successful delivery of change management process leading to acceptance and sustainability of the new changes & Initiatives. Drive effective change management outcomes as part of the program delivery.

  • Identify key metrics for tracking and assessment of program effectiveness, review gaps and drive continuous improvements.
