Job Description:

Work with Operations Leaders and Business Stakeholders to support multiple products, projects, and manage day-to-day business deliverables. Establishing new, and improving existing, processes to ensure optimal efficiency as it relates to operational workflow while adhering to all Firm and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of trade management, fund accounting, corporate actions, pricing, and valuations in pension, mutual funds, and institutional funds with an understanding of downstream impact to portfolio valuations in both internal/external systems.

  • Support daily trade management including start-of-day trade confirmation, settlements, positions review, FX processing, and other relevant tasks for Middle Office operations.

  • Support daily trades monitoring and liaising with brokers, custodians and different internal business units.

  • Support post-trade processing and resolving escalated trade settlement issues in a timely manner.

  • Manage the relationship with fund managers, custodian banks, brokers, auditors, and internal/external counterparties to monitor the quality of services and ensure market standard practices are in place.

  • Develop and maintain enhanced procedures and controls within investment operations to ensure consistent high-quality services and support to the front office, clients and other business units.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including regional and country investment operations teams, Portfolio Management, Project Management Office, Technology, Product, Portfolio Specialist and Risk and Compliance teams.

  • Assist in providing training for Investment Operations staff to build expertise and enhance Investment Operations capabilities.

  • Participate in Investment Operations projects, working closely with other offices and/or the Asia Project Management teams where applicable to ensure efficient and effective implementation.

  • Collaborate with peers, other business units, and functions both within Asia and globally.

  • Undertake ad hoc assignments or special business projects as assigned. Support the implementation of enhancements to systems and processes including drafting business requirements, designing test plans and conducting User Acceptance Test when required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with 6+ years’ experience across investment operations; with at least 4+ years’ direct experience working in a Middle Office/Cash Management/Investment Operations environment.

  • Experience and knowledge of Middle Office/Investment Operations’ policies and procedures, including cash management, trade management, trade support, corporate actions, pricing and valuations and fund operations.

  • Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation) and must be willing to report on either day or mid-shift.

  • Applicants should be willing to report to Manulife Offices in UP Ayala Technohub in Quezon City or Newtown Mactan, Lapu-Lapu, Cebu City.

Minimum Skills to Hire/Must Haves:

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (word, excel, PowerPoint). Power Platform tools and VBA knowledge is preferred. Business systems (Bloomberg, OMGEO CTM, Simcorp, Custodian portals) experience required.

  • Strong communication skills. Ability to understand, negotiate, and influence business stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues where the resolution is not readily apparent.

  • Good team player with strong written, and verbal communication skills, reading comprehension, and the ability to build relationships across multiple levels of the organization.

  • Proactive/can-do approach and attitude. Thorough attention to detail and accuracy of delivery.
